Terms of Service

Happy Yards Pet Waste Removal

Effective Date: March 2026

By initiating service with Happy Yards Pet Waste Removal, you agree to the following service policies and responsibilities.

1. Billing & Payments

Happy Yards operates on a monthly subscription-based billing model. All services are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis.

A valid credit or debit card on file is required to begin and maintain service. By enrolling in service, the client authorizes Happy Yards to automatically charge the card on file each month.

Billing is processed automatically on or around the last day of the current month or the first day of the upcoming service month. Clients may receive a billing reminder or notification prior to the charge; however, individual invoices are not required for recurring service.

Clients starting service mid-month will be prorated for the remainder of that month and then enrolled in the standard monthly billing cycle.

Pricing is based on ongoing yard maintenance, not the amount of waste removed during each visit.

If a payment fails or is declined:

  • Service will be immediately paused

  • No visits will be performed until payment is successfully processed

  • Scheduled service days during the pause will be skipped, and billing will remain unchanged, as waste continues to accumulate and will be collected when service resumes

Once payment is resolved, service will resume on the next scheduled service day.

If payment remains unresolved for more than 14 days, service may be cancelled. Re-enrollment will be subject to current pricing and availability.

2. Service Schedule

Service operates similarly to trash collection routes. Clients are assigned a service day rather than a specific time window.

Arrival times may vary due to:

  • route adjustments

  • weather conditions

  • workload volume

Whenever possible, a 30-minute arrival notification may be sent prior to service.

Service days may occasionally change due to route optimization, weather delays, or holidays.

3. Yard Access

Clients are responsible for maintaining safe and accessible entry into the yard on the scheduled service day.

If a technician is unable to access the yard due to:

  • locked gates

  • blocked entry points

  • construction or other obstacles

The visit will be considered complete and billed, as the technician was present and service time was reserved.

Photo documentation may be taken to document access issues.

Once access is restored, service will resume on the next scheduled visit. Any missed cleanup will result in increased waste accumulation, which will be addressed during the following service.

4. Dogs in the Yard

Dogs may remain in the yard during service if they are friendly and safe.

If a dog displays aggressive or unsafe behavior, the technician may skip the visit for safety reasons. The visit will still be considered complete and billed, as service time was reserved.

Once conditions are safe, service will resume on the next scheduled visit. Any missed cleanup will result in increased waste accumulation, which will be addressed during the following service.

Repeated unsafe conditions may result in termination of service.

5. Yard Conditions & Safety

Clients are responsible for maintaining yard conditions that allow waste to be safely located and removed.

Service may be skipped due to unsafe or obstructed conditions including but not limited to:

  • excessive grass height

  • heavy leaf coverage

  • standing water or flooding

  • snow or ice hazards

  • sharp debris or construction materials

  • unstable ground conditions

If a yard cannot be safely serviced, the visit will be skipped and billed. Service will resume during the next scheduled visit.

All safety determinations are made at the discretion of Happy Yards technicians.

6. Weather & Frozen Waste

Service may be skipped due to severe or unsafe weather conditions including:

  • snowstorms

  • ice accumulation

  • flooding

  • extreme temperatures

During freezing conditions, waste may become frozen to the ground and impossible to remove without damaging the lawn. In these situations, waste will be removed during a future visit once conditions allow.

If multiple visits are missed due to company-side interruptions and a client must clean their yard themselves, a credit may be applied to a future invoice.

7. First-Time Cleanups & Overgrown Yards

Yards that have not been maintained may require additional labor.

Excessively overgrown or heavily soiled yards may require:

  • a first-time cleanup fee, or

  • multiple visits to return the yard to maintenance level.

Pricing adjustments will be communicated before service begins.

8. Client-Requested Skips & Vacation Holds

Client-requested skips are normally still billed, as skipping service results in additional waste accumulation that must be removed during the next visit.

If a client will be away and the yard will not be used, advance notice may allow for an approved vacation hold credit.

Clients who choose to temporarily clean their own yard while service remains active will continue to be billed as scheduled.

9. Waste Disposal

Collected waste will typically be placed in the client's outdoor trash receptacle when available.

If a trash receptacle is not available, waste may be removed from the property and disposed of off-site at our discretion.

10. Holidays

Service is not performed on recognized U.S. bank holidays including but not limited to:

  • New Year’s Day

  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day

  • Presidents’ Day

  • Memorial Day

  • Independence Day

  • Labor Day

  • Thanksgiving Day

  • Day After Thanksgiving

  • Christmas Eve

  • Christmas Day

Service will resume on the next scheduled service date.

11. Liability

Happy Yards Pet Waste Removal is not responsible for damage to lawns, landscaping, gates, sprinklers, underground utilities, invisible fences, or other property resulting from normal service operations.

Clients are responsible for notifying Happy Yards of any known hazards or underground systems, including but not limited to:

  • irrigation systems

  • invisible fences

  • underground wiring or utilities

  • any other concealed yard hazards

Happy Yards is not liable for damage to unmarked or undisclosed systems.

Happy Yards takes reasonable precautions to reduce the spread of bacteria and parasites, including sanitizing equipment and footwear between services. However, we do not guarantee the complete elimination or prevention of parasites, illness, or contamination associated with pet waste or outdoor environments.

Happy Yards is not responsible for injury, illness, escape, or death of pets while service is being performed, except in cases of proven negligence.

12. Photo Documentation

Photos may be taken during service for:

  • quality control

  • proof of service

  • documentation of yard conditions

  • safety verification

As part of our service process, Happy Yards may take gate closure photos after each visit to confirm that all gates are properly secured upon departure. These photos may be provided to the client as a courtesy and for documentation purposes.

Photos will not include clients or personal identifying information.

13. Marketing & Promotional Use

Happy Yards may take photos or videos during service for marketing and promotional purposes, including use on social media, website content, or advertising materials.

These may include images of:

  • completed yard cleanups

  • service in progress

  • equipment and general work activity

We make reasonable efforts to avoid capturing identifying details such as house numbers, faces, or personal property.

If a client prefers that their property not be used for marketing purposes, they may opt out at any time by notifying Happy Yards in writing.

14. Pricing Changes

Service pricing may occasionally be updated. Existing clients will receive at least two weeks notice prior to any pricing adjustments.

15. Service Cancellation

Either party may terminate service with written notice.

If cancellation occurs before the first scheduled service of a billing period, a full refund will be issued.

If cancellation occurs after service has begun, a prorated refund may be issued at the discretion of Happy Yards, less the value of any promotional services already provided.

Outstanding balances must be paid within 15 days of cancellation.

16. Agreement

By signing up for service or accepting a quote, the client acknowledges and agrees to the Happy Yards Service Policies & Terms outlined above.

These terms are designed to ensure clear expectations, consistent service, and a smooth experience for all clients.
